ICE DAMS

Ice Dams
How Ice Dams Form

Although icicles can be a beautiful part of winter, it can also indicate problems to come.
Ice dams are buildups of ice that form near gutters and eaves of a roof that prevent snow and ice from draining off your roof system. As ice melts and refreezes, it can damage the shingles and other parts of the roof system. Growing ice dams can push water back up the roof slope and water then can flow under the shingles and penetrate into the roof system or house below causing major problems.
Removing snow from your roof is an important step to help prevent ice dams from forming on both residential and commercial properties. Call us to help with your roofing winter needs.
